LifeIsMyReligion.com is more than just apparel. It’s a tool for healing and a statement for freedom.
Hi! My name is Mike.
I'm the creative (and maybe a little crazy) human behind this project. And yes, that’s really me in the t-shirt and not an AI mockup. 😊
I am a former independent, fundamental, baptist and an ex-christian. I started this project because I care deeply about Existential Health.
What is Existential Health? It’s a holistic approach to our overall well-being. It’s not just about our physical, mental, and social health; it’s about the deeper existential aspects of our lives - finding meaning and purpose, exploring our whole existence, and learning how to handle the messy, complex, and anxious parts of life. It’s a fundamental need that strongly influences our psychological and physical well-being.
Religious Trauma causes deep wounds to our Existential Health. It is way more than just a crisis of faith; it’s a form of complex trauma that hits the deepest parts of a person’s identity and how they see the world. It can stem from prolonged exposure to toxic, high control religious environments, fear-based dogmas, or strict teachings that emphasize shame and punishment.
A 2021 survey conducted by The Reclamation Collective revealed that over 60% of respondents who left authoritarian religious groups reported ongoing struggles with self-worth, pervasive guilt, and social isolation.
Let’s take back the words.
Even words like “religion” can be reclaimed. I want to use the language that hurt us to heal us, to cultivate a deeper love for life and ourselves. I hope every piece inspires a conversation, sparks a thought, or maybe even starts a revolution.
Let’s fund the healing.
Every time you grab a t-shirt, you’re directly investing in post-religion care. A portion of the proceeds goes straight to people, causes, and organizations* that are paving the way for Existential Health—helping individuals navigate the complexities and anxieties of existence, recover from Religious Trauma, and find meaning and purpose.
With each purchase, you are partnering with us to save the world from toxic religion… one t-shirt at a time.
*One such organization is the Center for Non-Religious Spirituality. They have created the CNRS Care Fund to help make post-religion care accessible to all by providing financial assistance for one-on-one sessions with Non-Religious Existential Health Practitioners within their network.
